CO - FAQ

Welcome to Ford City’s unique co-working experience. We want you to have the best (zero hassle) work day, so we’ve put together this little manual so you’ll be a know-it-all before you even get here. Please make yourself at home, be courteous and take advantage of all the great things this neighbourhood has to offer.  

Day Desk use is exclusively from 8am - 8pm (no extensions)

Payment

All payments for Day Desks are made online and paid ahead of time.
Payment also means you accepted our “Terms and Conditions.”

Beverages 

Coffee, Tea and Water are complimentary. Coffee is located above the sink and to be used in the Keurig. If the water reservoir is empty please fill it. Tea is located on the shelf as well. Electric kettle is under the sink. To turn on, push the switch down (it will turn off automatically). Sugar is on the counter and milk is in the red fridge. Filtered water is available in the red fridge, use a provided glass or your own.

Fridge

The red fridge is available for use to store your lunch, use the bottom two shelves. If there is no room you can use the white fridge under the sink. Please do not leave any food behind or it will be disposed of. Do not touch any food that isn’t yours. Anything on the top shelf (carbonated water, water bottles) are complimentary, help yourself.

Dishes

Please don’t leave any dishes in the sink. If they are CO dishes, please wash, and put in the dish rack, there is dish soap and scrubbie on the sink.
Please, take all your dishes or containers home.

Door/Alarm

You will be provided a code at 6:00 am the day of your booking via email (and text at 7:30am the day of) It can only be used from 8am-8pm, you will not have access any other time. If you have reserved the meeting room, you may give them your temp code to your meeting guest to gain access. The door will always remain locked and will lock 20 seconds after it’s closed.

Meeting Room

One hour of meeting room use is included in your fee. If you need it reserved, it must be done ahead of time here.

Please be mindful of the time and do not use the room past your scheduled time. Also please clean up after yourselves and allow time to wipe down the table if need be.

Guests

Guests are only allowed during your meeting room use, please do not invite people at any other time.

Printing: 

Printing is complimentary, we have a small document printer. When you arrive instructions on how to print is under the board with the wifi info.
Paper can be found in the sliding drawer under the printer. Please do not use any custom papers as they may jam the machine.

Belongings

Any items left in the space are left at your own risk. Please respect others things and do not touch or use anything that is not yours. We will make all efforts to contact you to retrieve.

Emergency/Fire

In case of an emergency or fire, follow the posted signage located at the front or back door. The back stairwell door will lock behind you, proceed down the stairs to the exit on Whelpton. There is a fire extinguisher on the wall in the kitchen. There is a first aid kit in the kitchen, for any major emergencies please call 911.

Sound

It is recommended to bring a good pair of headphones if you do not want to be interrupted.

Please keep any unnecessary sounds, dings and rings to a minimum. Taking video or phone calls at your desk are completely fine but please use headphones (with mic) and speak at a mindful volume. Also, please set your ringer and phone volume to silent or low and refrain from using speaker phone.

Scents

Just like noise, scents can be quite disruptive and fellow workers can be very sensitive to them. Please be mindful as to not wear strong scents from perfume/cologne, hair products or lotions.

Work Booth

The booth can be used for phone calls or for video meetings where you require a little more privacy. This will be on a first come first serve basis. Please do not use for more than an hour at a time. It is not fully sound proof.

Lounge

This can be used at all times for any reason. It’s a casual space when you need to get away from the desk. 

General Conduct

Please be respectful and courteous at all times. This is a safe space for all people and we will not tolerate any rude behaviour.

Health and Safety

If you feel sick in any way or are showing symptoms of COVID 19, please do not come into the co-working space. Please email us and you will be reimbursed your fee.

For any injuries in the co-working space, there will be a first aid kit located in the washroom. For anything more severe that requires immediate medical attention call 911.

Wifi

Internet is included, the network name and password are on the board on the wall in the main work space.

Cancellation policy:

If you need to cancel your booking, please do so before 9 am on the day of your reservation. Please note that no refund is available if the booking is cancelled after the start time.

Please contact work@cofordcity.com in the case of cancellation so that we are able to process your refund.

Terms and Conditions:

1. You must pay the amount set out above by credit card prior to being given access to the co-working space. 

2. We will provide you with access a desk for the number of days or hours stipulated above which shall comprise the exclusive use to the relevant desk and chair or meeting room set out above and, subject to availability, the shared use of wireless and wired internet access, printing capability (reasonable use) toilet facilities, kitchen facilities, and all common area facilities intended for rest and recreation at the premises.

3. You, your employees, contractors and invitees will at all times comply with the rules for our premises provided to you and available at the premises (‘Code of Conduct’) and the terms of this agreement.

4. You will ensure that you maintain the security of our premises and any access keys or door codes that you are provided.

5. You will not affix or display any signage at the premises without our prior written consent.

6. You undertake that you use the desks and the premises at your own risk entirely and you will take all necessary precautions associated with this including but not limited to any cyber-security prevention measures and Health and Safety obligations to your contractors, employees and invitees.

7. If you invite anyone on the premises, you undertake that you are responsible for their actions.

8. Where you have breached the ‘Code of Conduct’ then you agree that we may assess the breach, and determine in our sole discretion the seriousness of the breach. Should we assess that the breach warrants cancellation then we may cancel this agreement immediately. No compensation will be payable to you and no refund will be provided for any amounts that have been paid. You must immediately remove all of your property. If we deem it necessary, we will remove your property and deliver it to your address at your cost.

9. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, with respect to the premises and the shared facilities. We are not be liable for any direct, indirect, compensatory or consequential damages of any kind or damages. Our liability under this agreement is at all times limited to the amount payable above.

10. When you leave property behind at the conclusion of the services then we will make reasonable efforts to return your property at your cost, provided that where we are unable to locate you we may dispose or sell your property at your cost and recover such costs from any proceeds of sale

11. The person signing this agreement warrants that they have the legal authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of the entity.
