After 4 weeks of building up enough stock, WIND-SOR ON-TAR-IO shirts are now available at a few places in town. Today the Windsor Star graciously ran an article informing residents where the shirts will be available, thanks Dalson Chen. Read the excerpt from today’s article below this photo.

- When I asked for Windsor souvenir T-shirt designs back in August, who knew that one guy would take it so seriously and so awesomely?
Local graphic artist Shane Potvin, whose clean and cool design won the contest, has announced that his Windsor, Ontario shirts are now ready for public purchase. He’s had 400 made so far, in stock at The Unique Rabbit (1662 Ottawa St.), Made in Windsor (1465 Ottawa St.), and the Black Kettle Bistro (357 Ouellette Ave.).Sizes range from- to XL. Women’s shirts (specially cut and 70 per cent bamboo fibre) are available in charcoal, electric blue, mint green, black or off-white. Men’s shirts are in black, white or royal blue. The price is $22.Every shirt comes with a “momentum rose” sticker — the stylized red rose that appears in the word “Windsor” on the shirt.”What I do is branding,” explains Potvin, 32, who runs his own design/advertising business. “I just wanted something symbolic people could put on their car, coffee mug, phone or laptop.”Potvin says the reception to the shirt so far has been great. Fans of the design include musician types such as Michael Hargreaves from local indie folk group Michou, and Casey Laforet from the Juno-nominated band Elliott Brood. But hipsters aren’t the only ones who appreciate the shirts. “I’ve been really shocked. People that I wouldn’t assume would like something progressive like this, they want one. It has more appeal than I thought,” Potvin says.Learn more about Spotvin Apparel and Shane’s other work at www.spotvin.com.
